Binney Street's beloved community institution The Bowerbird Op Shop is celebrating an extraordinary achievement - $3 million in takings since opening its doors 17 years ago.
Every cent raised by the popular shop goes directly to supporting GraniteHill Aged Care, funding vital equipment and enhancing the quality of care for local residents.
This milestone is testament to the tireless efforts of a dedicated team of volunteers, including some of the founding members who continue to serve in the shop today.
The Bowerbird remains 100 per cent volunteer-run, with additional support from community members who generously source, restore, and donate goods and their time.

To mark this incredible achievement, a street celebration will be held outside the shop on Friday 31 October, featuring a free sausage sizzle and live entertainment by local performer Jimmy Davidson.
